The New Gen of SciGen

A new generation of SciGen members offer invaluable contributions and drive our spirit of innovation. We want to introduce them to you. They come from different places and each have their own expertise, but are united by their shared passion for the advancement and accessibility of scientific research. Here is a little bit about those team members, so you can see who is behind our work!

Eleni

Eleni

Eleni has been with SciGen since 2020, as software engineer. She holds an MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an MSc in Algorithms and Privacy from Democritus University of Thrace. She has also recently started her PhD in Machine Learning. Her first in-person conference she attended was PGA2021 in December in New York and she can’t wait for her next one!

Fun fact: Obsessive about scheduling. Every time she goes on a trip she prepares an excel spreadsheet with time slots and what to visit. Her colleagues can confirm!

Tasos

Tasos

Tasos has been at SciGen since 2019. At the time he was an undergraduate student at Democritus University of Thrace and a junior developer. Right now he holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. His favorite hobby is pushing himself and those around him to become better.

Fun fact: Some say that he is 70% espresso, 30% JavaScript and 100% not a morning person.

Duke

Duke

Duke has been in SciGen since 2022. He started as an undergraduate junior developer and along the way he developed his programming skills through the company while he managed to get his MSc in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from Democritus University of Thrace. He is passionate about everything he does, always striving to improve while enjoying working as part of a team.

Fun fact: He summarizes his life in a few words - espresso, code, basketball, theater and gin tonic. And bad jokes. Especially bad jokes. And basketball.

Aris

Aris has been with SciGen since 2022. He is currently an undergraduate student at Democritus University of Thrace and is working as a junior developer at SciGen.

Fun fact: Likes to use Python wherever possible, to automate the boring stuff.

Nikolas

Nikolas

Nikolas is an undergraduate student in the Computer Science Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. At SciGen, he mainly works on developing web applications and is especially interested in front-end development and graphic design. He is also passionate about sports and new technologies and is always up for a new challenge.

Fun fact: Aspiring AI developer and accomplished cat dad

Theofilos

Theofilos

Theo is an undergraduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics of the University of Thessaly. At SciGen, he is a member of the web development team and shows a keen interest in the back-end implementation of applications. He enjoys traveling around the world attending conferences, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures.

Fun fact: Loves cooking and baking nearly as much as coding

Panagiota

Panagiota

Panagiota is an undergraduate student in Graphic Design at the AKTO College of Thessaloniki and is currently working on her thesis. At SciGen, she works on the graphic design team and loves designing beautiful websites and mobile applications. She has a soft spot for cats, enjoys winter weather, and loves all things Italian.

Fun fact: Graphic designer by day, race car enthusiast by night

George R.

George R.

George is an undergraduate student in the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus. He is SciGen’s newest addition to the web development team and is interested in both front and back-end development. He is always eager to learn and improve. One of his biggest weaknesses is his pet dog.

Fun fact: He likes to end his day with a good kickboxing session

Katerina

Katerina

Katerina got started at ePostersLive working on our blog and social media in 2021. Τhe first in-person conference she attended was for the American Society of Anesthesiologists 2021 annual meeting in San Diego. She loved it and can’t wait for her next trip.

Fun fact: Has a Master’s in World Literature and loves reading! Favorite book of all time is Barbarian Days by William Finnegan.

Jacqui

Jacqui

Jacqui has been working with ePostersLive since 2018 as our UK representative. With a background in academic libraries and research support, her expertise is in the preservation and sharing of research data and materials.

Fun fact: Is a Master of Arts and Master of Science, and she was one of the first women to have a Saudi driving license.

George M.

George M.

George is a driven Business Administration undergraduate student at the International Hellenic University in Kavala. He has a passion for marketing and sales. In his free time, George enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and capturing his experiences through his camera lens.

Fun fact: He enjoys immersing himself in new cultures and meeting people from all walks of life.

Natasa

Natasa

Natasa has been with SciGen since 2017, initially working at financial services and later on as support agent and project manager. Her expertise is in support and client services.

Fun fact: She remembers EVERYONE’S birthday!

Vangelis

Vangelis

Vangelis has been with SciGen since 2020, as support agent and project manager. He works in operations and client services.

Fun fact: Enjoys traveling and supporting clients around the world

Konstantina

Konstantina

Konstantina holds a BSc in Social Policy from Panteion University (2019) and a MSc in Health Economics and Management from the University of Piraeus (2021). She has been with SciGen since 2021 as support agent and project manager.

Fun fact: I don’t believe in astrology; I’m a Sagittarius and we’re skeptical!

George C.

George C.

George has been with SciGen since 2011, originally as head of customer support and later on as a Director of Client Satisfaction. His expertise is in the ePoster industry, ePoster and eAbstract case studies.

Fun fact: Loves coffee, food, and silly jokes.
